Humming bird rescue

Today I was sitting outside the motorhome and I saw something out the corner of my eye. It was a humming bird struggling to fly.

I scooped him up and now he was my responsibility. I can’t just watch him suffer. Well I was in luck. I caught the curiosity of my neighbor and soon there were more neighbor around. Apparently one has some experience with this situation because she brought out an eyedropper and started feeding the little guy. Soon he was warm and feed and looking a lot better. Looking too young to be on his own we called the Humane Society and they agreed to take him. They said to call in a day or so and they will give us an update. Maybe we can get him back after he is well and he will be our resort hummingbird.

  1. Ohhhhh, Dan this is such a nice thing all of you are doing. Thank you on behalf of the hummingbird and all of us who "can't watch them suffer" either. Really, thank you.

  2. We called today and he was well so they released him. We were a little upset because we wanted him back to release in the resort but at least he is well.

  3. That's wonderful. I'm amazed that the bird let anyone get so close.

  4. He really didn’t have much choice at first. He was too cold and weak to fight. Later I think he got comfortable with us and knew we meant no harm.
