Our New House

It was brought to my attention that we haven’t updated our Blog since 2013. Since we have become stagnant and haven’t really traveled for a while I didn’t have much of interest to post. Not that our life isn’t interesting, there just isn’t much RV Travel going on.

Well recently we have turned another page in our lives. We decided since we like our lifestyle so much that buying a house wasn’t in our plans. However we have pretty much outgrown the RV so…

We bought a Park Model home in the same resort where we have lived for the last 11 years in the motor home. If you are not familiar with a Park Model, it is a small 400 square foot manufactured home. Ours however is a bit more than a simple park model. First off ours is set in the ground so it is ground level, then a 200 square foot addition was added making it 600 square foot overall and the whole thing is stuccoed and the roof is tiled. There is also a 117 square foot building on the property, which serves as a laundry room and a shop. This building is attached to the house by a covered patio with outdoor kitchen. Along with the real residential appliances they topped it off with an air conditioner that can turn the house into a meat locker in the 120-degree Arizona summers. You can see more photos by clicking on the link in the left column.

I have added a link to the photos of our house HERE.

So, although we are keeping the motor home, it looks like we are not Fulltimers anymore.

Best wishes to all our readers and I hope your travels are as enjoyable as ours.

I will leave the Blog up because I know others enjoy reading about our travels.

Well sometimes your luck just runs out. Susan and I have been driving for MANY years with out an incident. But last night that all changed. Susan was blinded by the sun for a split second and had a collision with a gate. No one was hurt physically but Susan was pretty upset and I lost a night sleep trying to decide what to do next. Turns out since we had such a good driving record that I figured we didn’t need collision coverage on our insurance. WRONG! This one is on my dime.
Otherwise we are having a good time here at the NASCAR race in Fontana. I ended up renting a car to get us from the Elks Lodge in Ontario where we like to stay to the track and back everyday.

  1. OMG Dan, I sure hope our, or should I say Tina's luck didn't rub off on you guys.

Glad to hear Susan wasn't hurt. The windshield looks like it was broke by the air bags. With Tina's Buick the air bag ended up breaking the windshield.

    Have fun at the races.

  2. Actually I think the steel gate Susan ran into broke the windshield. My daughter was sitting in the passenger side. I hate to think what could have happened.

  3. Holy cow Dan! I'm sure glad nobody was hurt! That's the important thing!Tell Susan it happens t the best of us. I had my gate encounter where I last saw you.

  4. Dan & Susan,
Glad no one got hurt. Doesn't look pretty. Time to trade??
    Have a great day.

  5. No trade! That’s what hurts so much. I really like that car. I just hope it’s fixable. There is more damage that the pictures show.

Too bad you didn't wait one more week for the oil change!
I think the bad part is right at the rear-view mirror...that what's gonna end it all.
But, hey, a little duct tape...

  7. Yeah, no kidding with the oil change. I think I got 1 day out of the new oil. I thought if the car is totaled I would drain the oil and save it for another time.

Yeah all! Thanks for all your concern!

Dad, do you pick the advertisements on your web page or is it just a HUGE coincidence that they are all auto repair & accident related? That's pretty funny!
    Happy Birthday and Love ya!

  10. It’s just another wonder of computers. The advertisers software picks the ads according to the contents of the website.
