Our New House
It was brought to my attention that we haven’t updated our Blog since 2013. Since we have become stagnant and haven’t really traveled for a while I didn’t have much of interest to post. Not that our life isn’t interesting, there just isn’t much RV Travel going on.
Well recently we have turned another page in our lives. We decided since we like our lifestyle so much that buying a house wasn’t in our plans. However we have pretty much outgrown the RV so…
We bought a Park Model home in the same resort where we have lived for the last 11 years in the motor home. If you are not familiar with a Park Model, it is a small 400 square foot manufactured home. Ours however is a bit more than a simple park model. First off ours is set in the ground so it is ground level, then a 200 square foot addition was added making it 600 square foot overall and the whole thing is stuccoed and the roof is tiled. There is also a 117 square foot building on the property, which serves as a laundry room and a shop. This building is attached to the house by a covered patio with outdoor kitchen. Along with the real residential appliances they topped it off with an air conditioner that can turn the house into a meat locker in the 120-degree Arizona summers. You can see more photos by clicking on the link in the left column.
I have added a link to the photos of our house HERE.
So, although we are keeping the motor home, it looks like we are not Fulltimers anymore.
Best wishes to all our readers and I hope your travels are as enjoyable as ours.
I will leave the Blog up because I know others enjoy reading about our travels.

Benson AZ

We finally made it to the east side of Arizona. We are only 75 miles from the New Mexico Border. However, we won't be seeing New Mexico for several days because we are going to spend some time in the Benson area. We only planned to be here for a few days but when we got here we found there is a lot to do so we extended our stay. Also the RV park I picked from the internet turned out to be a gem.
We reached our limits on our phone, internet, and satellite TV.
Our Verizon phone has switched over to what they call Extended Network. This is where we are out of the Verizon network but in another network that Verizon has an agreement with, in this case Sprint. This means we can not take advantage of any of our Verizon features such as The Verizon High Speed Network, or in laymans terms, their internet connection. Also since we are out of the network, we are using our minutes to call Verizon to Verizon which is usually free.
Another limit exceeded is my dialup internet connection. I use Access4free which does not have toll free numbers. Instead they have local numbers for most major cities. Benson is not near a major city. I am forced to pay Tengointernet for wireless access in order to retrieve email and access the internet. This post will be fairly extensive since I have limited access.
The last limit is, I lost my local satellite channels. We were subscribing to the local San Diego channels but it turns out that we can only receive them within a 250 mile radius from San Diego. Actually we got them 300 miles away in Phoenix but lost them in Tucson. Tucson was 360 miles so I was unable to pick them up. I called DirecTV and switch to the West Coast Network feed so we can now get NBC CBS ABC and FOX again. These are coming out of Los Angeles so we are now watching the LA news. As we get closer to the east coast we will switch to the East Coast Feed which comes out of Chicago. We could keep the West Coast Feed but the programs will be on 3 hours late because of the time change across the country.
